This section focuses on the notion of different countries having different levels of economic and social development and that there are significant regional and global disparities. 

Rate of development and growth in different regions. There are strategies of varying success to reduce the development gap.  Also an emphasis on the UK as a case study of considerable economic sector shift and change since the latter half of the 20th Century.
